A gamma radiation exposure risk assessment using Monte Carlo simulation and an adult anthropomorphic phantom

چکیده

The human body is vulnerable to exposure ionizing radiation permanently. These radiations can be of natural origin such as soil and space, or artificial medical origins etc. Despite the great benefits that come from applications in life turn at any time into threats population once there serious radiation. aim this work assess risks by gamma using Monte Carlo simulation an anthropomorphic phantom. This study carried out on rays received cobalt-60 irradiator National Institute Agronomic Research (NIAR) Tangier / Morocco. With code Geant4 we calculate absorbed dose whole phantom placed front inside NIAR ionization cell. Dose calculations are made a function three parameters: phantom-irradiator distance, activity. results clearly show thus danger irradiation decreases increasing phantom-source reducing activity source.
